About us

Our devoted volunteers support hospitals 365 days a year, often outside normal operating hours.

We deliver urgent blood samples, medical supplies, patient records, and human milk for premature babies to hospitals in Louth, Meath, Monaghan, and Cavan, completely free of charge. We also collect donations to support critically ill children, while working in partnership with other Blood Bike charities across Ireland.

Stories from the road

Hear from those who ride, support,
and benefit from the work we do.

  • I have volunteered with Cú Chulainn Blood Bikes for over 3  years. It has given me a chance to use my skills and experience to help  develop the charity. Some of the activities I have helped with include sponsorship, street collections, volunteer recruitment, public   awareness, social media, and rota coordination, as well as transporting blood  samples and human milk between hospitals. I'm a very passionate team  member that's contributing to patient health, I love what I do!

  • In 2022 I was determined to volunteer for a local charity and came across CCBB through the volunteer's website. I instantly said "yes that’s for me." I was delighted to see that drivers and bikers were needed as I’m a driver. Little did I know the breadth of the urgent transport service provided across the region, something I'm now very proud to be part of in what we do for the community & HSE.

  • The team at Cú Chulainn was friendly, professional, and incredibly skilled. We are forever grateful.
